Year 7 trip to Christmas Markets

6th Dec 2016

On Monday 5th December, Year 7 boys and girls went for a 'Guided Tour' of the Christmas Markets in Belfast. Our Tour Guide was Norman, who took us to a variety of food stalls, where we sampled many amazing dishes from countries all over the world. We even tried Australian kangaroo burgers and they were delicious. Our favourite was the doughnut stall which was last. Everybody was so full they could hardly eat their doughnuts.

To make the day extra special we also had a guided tour of the 'Dome' in Victoria Square. Our guide was Gerry, who told us many interesting facts about Belfast. One amazing fact was that all the green domes we could see were actually copper which had turned green with age. We worked out the number of triangles in the Dome was 653.

Following the Christmas Markets we had a third tour - this time it was Ciara, who took us around Belfast City Hall. As you can see from our photographs, it really is an amazing building. It was actually built in the early 1900's at a cost of £369,000, which Ciara told us equates to £128,000,000 in todays value.

We really had an amazing day!
