Key Workers
Dear parent/carer,
School will reopen Tuesday 24th March.
In supporting the roles of key workers during these extremely difficult times and following on from the Education Minister’s letter on Thursday 19th March, schools have been asked to facilitate our parents who fall into the Government’s key worker category.
Key workers are identified as those whose work is critical to keeping our nation functioning.
Schools are being asked to provide a very different type of provision. Schools are now being asked to provide care for pupils – not education. The number of pupils coming to school must be kept to :
1. A strict minimum
2. Adhere to PHA guidance
3. 2 metre social distancing. All children will have to adhere to this.
4. Meet safety requirements of pupil/adult ratio (staff availability dependant).
We are operating with a reduced staff throughout the school. We ask you to remember:
* the safest place for your child is at home where their contact with those who may be carriers of the virus is limited.
* all parents/guardians are urged to do what they can to make their own child care arrangements.
Any child coming to school must be agreed with the principal prior to them coming to school as we do not have full staffing in place. Please be clear, this will only be available for the children of those key workers that have exhausted all other child care options.
Please find attached key worker application form. I would ask that this form is completed and return by email to omcnally563@c2kni.net by 10am Monday 23rd March.
Kind regards
