Remembrance Day for Stephen
Thursday 21st May past was a very special Remembrance Day for Stephen. All our pupils and Stephen's parents were in attendance. The day began with a Prayer Service which Fr Peter delivered in his usual thoughtful and uplifting manner. A special part also was the reading of personal reflections by his P6 and P7 friends. His friends also read out a poem which they collectively made up for Stephen.(See below)
The Prayer Service was followed by planting a specially dedicated tree to Stephen and then there was the BALLOON RELEASE. This was a spectacular sight as each pupil released their personal balloons complete with their hand written message to Stephen. We do hope that each message travelled the whole way to Heaven for Stephen to read.
A Poem for Stephen
We remember you starting Reception Class
You played with every lad and lass
Always a smile upon your face
One that we can never replace
Your special talents soon came to the fore
Never finding anything a chore
Your art work was something we did admire
Our class you did inspire
But it was in sport where you were best
Always showing up the rest
Scoring points and goals galore
Always wanting more and more
And then at home there were lambs and sheep
Also cows and calves you did keep
Feeding, cleaning, helping out
A keen and budding farmer without a doubt
Even though you are not here
We hold you in our hearts so dear
We have been blessed to have known you
Because you were special through and through
We have lost a special friend
Because to heaven you did ascend
You will always be on our minds
As we have memories of great times
Composed by your Primary 6 and 7 friends
