School Bags
Following consultation with the Education Authority and Public Health Agency, children can bring in school bags from Monday 21st September.
''With regard to school bags, our advice is that if these are sanitised the risk is minimal. Parents will need to be reminded that they have a responsibility to ensure that items are cleaned regularly. On that basis and given that the school bag and its contents, lunch box, water bottle etc are personal to the child and not shared with other children within the bubble, then we think that it is reasonable that they should be permitted.'' EA/PHA Guidance
School bags should be sanitised in the morning before the children come into school and they may be brought home again that afternoon. On returning home they should again be sanitised again ( wipes or spray). Over the past three weeks we have watched children struggle to carry lunch boxes, water bottles along with homework and letters home. We hope that this will help the children carry these essentials. Other belongings from home are NOT allowed to come into school. We continue to thank you for your support and understanding as advice continues to change on a regular basis.
