Year 2 and 3 pupils had great fun doing Smartie Maths. Year 2 pupils had to sort the smarties into their different colour groups, count how many of each colour there were and record the results on a graph. Year 3 pupils had to estimate how many smarties were in the tube before opening it; then they emptied the sweets on to a plate and estimated again before counting them. Next they sorted the sweets into their colours and used tally marks to show how many of each colour there were. Finally they recorded their results on a graph. The best part was that all pupils got to eat their sweets when they had completed the task!!
